Looking for Shiatsu in Tokyo?
The origin —
Imperial Hotel Tokyo.
Since 1925.
Open daily,
11:00–19:00 JST (last session starts at 19:00)
At the Imperial Hotel Tokyo, the third and fourth generations of the Namikoshi family give sessions.
The word "Shiatsu" was created by Tokujiro Namikoshi — who established its system in 1925 and founded the practice of applying pressure to the body's vital points using only the fingers and palms.
That knowledge has been passed down through four generations, and continues today on the Mezzanine floor of the Imperial Hotel Tokyo Main Building.
Nationally licensed Anma Massage Shiatsu Practitioners work with hands alone — no tools, no machines, no medications — to ease fatigue and support the body's natural balance.
Desk work can leave the lower back heavy and the head, neck and shoulders tight on the same day.
Namikoshi shiatsu is built as a full-body sequence, from the head, neck and shoulders down through the back, lower back and legs.
You are welcome to mention both the lower back and the head.
